Cale Wallace PhDFounding Director of SOAR Resilience

Cale Wallace PhD is an educator, researcher, lawyer, elite high-performance strength and conditioning coach, and NSW Premier’s Teaching Scholar award recipient who has dedicated over 25 years mentoring students, athlete’s, companies, and sporting organisations to maximise their performance.

  • Resilience Expert & Educator

    Cale’s highly decorated career across all levels of the education sector has seen him inspire students, staff, and communities. Working across a range of students and contexts, from “at-risk” students to high achievers, his message is clear: making change one step at a time.

  • Elite high-performance coach

    Cale has coached a wide range of athletes from developing through to professional. These include Major League Baseball players, Basketball players in the NBA, Soccer players in the English and European Leagues , World champion boxers, and Olympic medallists. His experience coupled with a research masters degree in the field of adolescent exercise training makes Cale a highly sought after expert in this field.

  • Accolades, Awards & Honours

    In 2015, Cale was awarded a NSW Premier’s Teaching Scholarship in recognition for his pioneering work in the resilience, wellbeing, and emotional intelligence space in NSW Public Schools. This provided Cale with the opportunity to research and present at some of the world’s leading institutions both in Australia and internationally on evidence-based, context specific and culturally attuned strategies in relation to resilience, wellbeing, and emotional intelligence.

    These include: the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence – Yale University (USA), The Eagle Academy (New York, USA), The Inner Resilience Program (New York, USA) Resilience Research Center – Dalhousie University (Canada), Stockholm University (Sweden), University of Helsinki (Finland), Brighton University (UK), University of Bath (UK), Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, University College London (UK), University of Brighton (UK), Wellington College (Berkshire, UK), The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (Paris, France) and in Australia at the Black Dog Institute NSW, The Anika Foundation, NSW Department of Education, The Public Education Foundation, The College of Law, Athletics NSW, and many community sporting organisations.

    Cale’s leadership in education in was recognised in the 2021 NSW Education Ministers and Secretary’s Awards for Excellence which acknowledges the achievements of outstanding educators in their field.

The programs are designed to strengthen resilience and shift the momentum towards positive mental health and wellbeing for all people.
