Education
Schools as the ideal setting for health promotion
Schools provide an ideal setting for health promotion strategies due to the access to large
populations of students during their formative years, key opportunities for early
intervention, and the accessibility to professional supports fostering a collaborative
approach to both individual and whole school wellbeing.
Severe Stress
9 out of 10 – The number of Australian teachers experiencing severe stress
(Granziera et al., 2025)
Major Depression
3 in 10 – Australian adolescents reported probable major depression (Smout et al., 2025)
Years
14.5 years – Peak age of onset for mental disorders (Solmi et al., 2022)
Children
The number of Australian children who have encountered harmful content on the internet (Smout et al., 2025)
However, despite the opportunities available in schools’ to address resilience and mental
health, children and adolescents are still less likely to seek help or receive care when
compared to adults (Grove et al., 2023).

Mental health conditions are on the rise
Mental health conditions are rising in the younger generation, generally deteriorate over
time, and disproportionately effect the most vulnerable sections of our communities.
Age-appropriate and context-specific
SOAR Resilience programs are delivered in an age-appropriate and context-specific setting
and are designed to take advantage of sensitive periods of childhood and adolescent
development in relation to emotional regulation, biological readiness and socio-cultural
contexts.
Early intervention and prevention
50% of all mental health problems emerge during adolescence and these can have lifelong
consequences (Black Dog Institute 2022).
Early intervention and prevention are key to addressing the current mental health crisis (Oberklaid & Anderson, 2025).
Education is more than knowledge—it’s the foundation for growth, confidence, and opportunity. We believe in creating learning experiences that are practical, engaging, and tailored to the needs of students, teachers, and institutions.
